Always advancing -- The American Concrete Institute is a leading global authority for the development, dissemination, and adoption of its consensus-based standards, technical resources, and educational, training, & certification programs. Founded in 1904, ACI is headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA, with a regional office in Dubai, UAE, and resource centers in Southern California and Chicago/Midwest.
The history of any organization reflects the ideals and activities of individuals or organized groups within it. As such, the South Florida Chapter of ACI has been organized to provide a means of advancing the interests of the Institute in South Florida and furthering the chartered objectives for which the Institute is organized.
“The purpose of the American Concrete Institute (the ‘Institute’) shall be to further engineering and technical education, scientific investigation and research, and development of standards for design and construction incorporating concrete and related materials. The Institute shall organize the efforts of its members for a nonprofit, public service in gathering, correlating, and disseminating information. The Institute shall address design, construction, manufacture, use, and maintenance and restoration of concrete and related materials. These efforts shall promote improved technology, technical competence, design and construction for the benefit of society.”
To summarize in its simplest terms, ACI and the South Florida Chapter are groups of individuals who are interested in and want to learn more about concrete and its uses.
